Accessibility
The Japan Aisle is built to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboards only, or high zoom.
What the site does
- Targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Text contrast is checked on every page before publishing.
- Works with keyboard only: a "Skip to content" link, visible focus outlines, and no keyboard traps.
- Every image has alt text; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Respects your "reduce motion" setting. The site has almost no animation anyway.
- Uses real headings and lists, so screen readers can jump through an article.
- Plain HTML with no overlays or accessibility widgets, which don't fix underlying problems.
Known limitations
Product cards are text-only at the moment. If product images are added later through Amazon's tools, they may carry the alt text Amazon supplies, which is sometimes generic; where it matters, the surrounding text describes the product.
Tell me if something's broken
If any part of this site is hard to use, email me through the contact page and say which page and what happened. I aim to reply within a few days and fix real problems in the next update.
